phycic, a. Chem.

  [f. Gr. ϕῦκ-ος fucus, seaweed + -ic.]
  In phycic acid, a crystalline body extracted from Protococcus vulgaris by alcohol, colourless, somewhat unctuous to the touch, tasteless, inodorous, and permanent in the air.
