-graphic

-graphic
  (ˈgræfɪk)
the ending of the adjs. correlative in sense with the ns. in -graph, -grapher, -graphy, represents Gr. -γραϕικός, which occurs in a few words derived from adjs. or ns. in -γράϕος (see -graph), some of which have been anglicized, as ἱστοριογραϕικός historiographic. Any of the Eng. adjs. in -graphic might conceivably have been formed on an assumed Gr. type, but it is probable that they have been mostly formed with suffix -ic directly on Eng. ns. in -graphy (or less frequently -graph). The prevailing sense is ‘of or pertaining to ― graphy’.
