A diamidine with bactericidal and fungicidal properties which is used, usu. in the form of its isethionate (a white, hygroscopic powder), in dressing minor wounds or burns; 1,3-di(4-amidinephenoxy)propane, CH2[CH2· O·C6H4.C(NH)(NH2)]2.
