1950 [see cobalamin]. 1961 Lancet 26 Aug. 482/2 It seems probable that the pharmacopœial term ‘vitamin B 12’, at present restricted..to cyanocobalamin, will soon have to be extended to include also hydroxocobalamin. 1962 New Scientist 15 Feb. 390/2 A by-product of the streptomycin fermentation is cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12), an important constituent of liver extract, used in treating pernicious anaemia. |
