  [ad. med.L. dēmembrātiōn-em, n. of action f. dēmembrāre to dismember: see prec. Cf. OF. demanbration (Godef.).]
  The cutting off of a limb; mutilation; dismemberment. (Chiefly in Sc. Law.)
