XXX. 746 The present paper is concerned with the finding of a new hexagonal mineral from Bokaro coalfield, India, (Mg, Fe+2)2Al4Si5O18 in composition, polymorphic with cordierite. This mineral has hitherto been identified as cordierite; but..it is a distinct species, to which the name ‘indialite’ is proposed. 1972 M. H.
