  [mod.L., a. Gr. ψωρίᾱσις, f. ψωριᾶν to have the itch, f. ψώρα itch. The etymological pronunciation is (ˌpsɔərɪˈeɪsɪs), but that given is in ordinary use.]
  A disease of the skin characterized by the appearance of dry reddish patches covered with glistening imbricated scales.
