  A surgical instrument proposed as a substitute for leeches, and fitted to show the amount of blood drawn.

1839 Hooper Med. Dict. 254. 1874 Dunglison Med. Dict., Bdellometer..consists of a cupping-glass, to which a scarificator and exhausting syringe are attached.
