  An instrument for measuring the rate or force of the pulse. Also attrib., as pulsimeter watch.

1842 in Dunglison Med. Lex. 1894 Brit. Med. Jrnl. 26 May 1132/1 The advantages claimed for the ‘Pulsimeter’ watch are economy of time, accuracy of record, and the possibility of taking the pulse in the dark without any inconvenience to the patient.
