  the ending of certain words adopted from Fr., as Anglomane, bibliomane, which have the general sense ‘one who has a mania for (something)’, and are formed on assumed Gr. types in -µανής: see mania. The words of this formation have never become entirely naturalized in Eng., the meaning being preferably expressed by formations in -maniac.
