  [a. G. pantocain, f. Gr. παντο- panto- + -cain, after G. cocain cocaine.]
  The hydrochloride salt, C15H24N2O2·HCl, of a diamino-ester which is used as a local anæsthetic; also called amethocaine or tetracaine hydrochloride.
