1973 Lancet 25 Aug. 400/1 In this paper we describe preliminary work with mexiletine (KÖ 1173), a new antiarrhythmic drug which suppresses experimental ventricular arrhythmias. 1977 Ibid. 16 Apr. 859/1 The arrhythmia responded to lignocaine infusion but oral mexiletine in full doses (250 mg four times a day) failed to achieve control. 1980 Brit. Med. Jrnl. 18 Oct. 1072/3 A supraventricular tachycardia with aberrant conduction was mistaken for ventricular tachycardia and lignocaine was given without effect followed by mexiletine, which terminated it. 1988 Clin. Cardiol. XI. 132 (heading) Chronic mexiletine therapy for suppression of ventricular arrhythmias.
