sequestrum Path.

  Pl. sequestra.
  [mod.L. use of L. sequestrum something separated, neut. of sequester adj.: see sequester n.]
  A detached piece of bone lying within a cavity formed by necrosis. Also applied to a portion of skin separated by disease from the surrounding parts. Cf. sequester n.2 3.
