  [a. AF. rente secque lit. dry rent.]
  A rent reserved by deed in favour of some person, without a clause of distress in case of arrears (and so differing from a rent-charge).
  This distinction in respect of remedy was abolished in 1731 by the statute 4 Geo. II. c. 28 §5.
