The radical C10H13 of thymol and its derivatives; also used attrib. and in comb., as thymyl hydride, C10H13.H, thymyl sulphuric (acid), thymyl phosphate, thymyl silicate, thymyl sulphate. Hence ˈthymylamine, C10H13NH2; thyˈmylic a., in thymylic acid, thymyl alcohol, thymyl hydrate, obs. synonyms of thymol.
