semicarbazide Chem.

  A colourless, crystalline, basic solid, NH2·CO·NH·NH2, derived from urea by substitution of a hydrazino group for one of the amino groups, which reacts with carbonyl compounds to form semicarbazones. Also, a derivative of this.
