A whitish powder that is a derivative of phenothiazine and has actions and uses similar to, but stronger than, those of chlorpromazine, being used as a sedative and anti-emetic and in the treatment of alcoholism; 2-chloro-10-{ob}3-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazin-1-yl]propyl{cb}phenothiazine, C21H26N3OClS.

Bridges Psychiatric Emergencies vi. 158 Chlorpromazine.., trifluoperazine..and perphenazine (Fentazin, Trilafon) are commonly given to patients with neurotic illnesses. 1978 Nature 23 Mar. 331/2 Chlorpromazine and perphenazine were found..to be as effective as conventional tricyclic antidepressant drugs in the treatment of certain forms of depression. |
