  [mod.L. (Linnæus 1735), f. Gr. µόνανδρος having one husband (f. µόνος mono- + ἀνδρ- man, male).]
  The first class in the Linnæan Sexual System, comprising all plants having hermaphrodite flowers with but one stamen or male organ.
