The thickened and hardened part of the cuticle of each zooid or polyp of a colony of Polyzoa, forming a cell or sheath in which it is lodged. Hence zoœcial (zəʊˈiːʃ(ɪ)əl) a., pertaining to or forming a zoœcium.
