  [L., a. Gr. τὸ ἀσύνδετον, subst. use of ἀσύνδετος unconnected, f.priv. + σύνδετος, vbl. adj. f. συν-δέ-ειν to bind together.]
  A rhetorical figure which omits the conjunction. asyndetic (æsɪnˈdɛtɪk), a., characterized by asyndeton, not connected by conjunctions; hence asynˈdetically adv.
