  The bird Opisthocomus hoazin (O. cristatus), characterized by an occipital crest of feathers; the hoactzin. So opisthocomine (əʊpɪsˈθɒkəmaɪn), opisˈthocomous adjs., allied in character to the hoactzin; having an occipital crest.
