meaking

meaking, vbl. n. Naut.
  (ˈmiːkɪŋ)
  Also 9 meeking.
  [? f. meak + -ing1.]
Only in meaking iron: ‘The tool used by caulkers to run old oakum out of the seams before inserting new’ (Smyth 1867).
According to information supplied by Mr. G. Crocker, of H. M. Dockyard, Devonport, the term is now often misapplied to the making-iron (making vbl. n. 10); the first quot. is an example of the erroneous use.
