The name of Karl Ziegler (1898–1973), German chemist, used attrib. to designate a trialkyl aluminium-titanium tetrachloride catalyst discovered by him for the synthesis of stereoregular isotactic polymers of high density and crystallinity from an ethylene or propylene monomer; also, loosely, = next.
