1862 Hofmann in Proc. Roy. Soc. XII. 5 Mr. Nicholson designates the pure base of the red colouring matter by the name of Roseine. 1862 Miller Elem. Chem., Org. (ed. 2) 449 When treated with peroxide of lead and sulphuric acid, aniline furnishes a delicate rose colour, which Dr. D.
