[mod.L., ad. Gr. ἐπιπόδιον, neut. of ἐπιπόδιος, f. ἐπί upon + ποῦς, ποδ-ός foot.]
1. Zool. A muscular lobe developed from the lateral and upper surfaces of the foot of some molluscs.

2. Bot. A form of disc consisting of glands upon the stipe of an ovary. Also the stalk of the disc itself.
