The reducing disaccharide sugar C12H22O11, formed by partial hydrolysis of melezitose; 3-α-d-glucopyranosyl-d-fructose.

Chem. ii. 43 Turanose (fructose + glucose) is obtained by hydrolyzing the trisaccharide melicitose. 1975 Nature 10 July 128/1 Maltose was slightly more effective, and sucrose, turanose, kojibiose, trehalose and melezitose all inhibited binding at significantly lower concentrations than glucose. |
