good morning and welcome to bolton turf supplies my name's gary today we're going to do a video of us repairing an area clearing all the weeds leveling it and then put some turf down as you can see the garden is absolutely covered in wheat it's the most important thing here what we're going to do is we're basically going to be forking these out completely so what we're going to do is get down to the roots and remove the root right out there's no point in cutting the heads off so they'll come back to come right out of the root this is what we're doing over the entire garden now they've taken out all the weeds we're now going to rotate up the ground to smash up all the lumps and turn on the soil over to get some air in it and hand pick out all the stones it's now all nice and level we've started putting this topsail stroke sand mix in uh this has got a mix of compost in it and sand the sand helps the drainage being been laid down on a clay based soil and the compost has got a lot of nutrients so just putting this layer down then we start laying some turf now we started laying the turf down starting from the longest part of the garden so there's less joints cuts to make um as you can see we've been staggering the joints so it's important that you stagger the joints like brick work so you've got two lines the same so it helps out when it's starting to knit together this time of year is information you can check out our website which is you
