we prepare the so called little glue which is one part water and one part alcohol put a light coat of cream on your face or the back of your hand delicately pass the flat squirrel hair brush against your face or on the back of your hand open the booklet to the first available leaf with an accurate and speedy movement flip the leaf onto the cushion with the knife make a cut in the middle of the leaf pressing firmly going back and forth in short movements then pulling the knife back still pressing against the cushion with resolve and in one movement lift half of the cut leaf dip the brush in the glue and brush it on to the area where you will apply the leaf immediately after apply the leaf and quickly remove the flat brush do this again until you complete the entire surface be very careful when applying one leaf over the next overlap by at least an eighth of an inch if the leaves are moved too much or are jagged it is better to cover them with new leaf if in the overlap area the little glue came out you need to put new gold leaf on it
