Please explain how to plunge toilet or sink

hi my name is Steve summer Ford I work with Norfolk plumbing Incorporated and today I'm going to be showing you how to plunge a sink and plunge a toilet so the first thing when plunging in toilet you want to go ahead and bring your plunger in you want to set it down in the base of the toilet make sure that it gets a good seal and go ahead and gently apply pressure down and the the key is you want to go ahead and get that thing to get a good siphon on it so that as you're moving it back and forth you're putting pressure on whatever blockage is in between the plunger and and wherever that blockage is and once you feel that once you feel that you've got the blockage clear you can go ahead and give it a flush if everything works well everything goes on down the drain okay so now we're gonna go ahead and show you how to plunge a sink the key to plunging a sink is a lot of people where they have problems is they go ahead and they get a plunger in here and they try and plunge it and they may do a good job with making a seal around the base their plunger but they forget to cover this overflow if you do not cover this overflow you're not going to be able to get the pressure that you're looking for you may get water shooting out right here so what you want to go ahead and do is get your plunger in here to get it set go ahead and cover this hole and be conscious that whatever you when you are plunging that you're not physically shoving this stopper down in the bottom so check and make sure that that stop reads down cover this hole and then go ahead and give it a couple of punches you may see some dirty water coming up in and that's okay that just means you're doing a good job maintain that seal on the plunger and then go ahead and pull it out of the way if everything goes down the drain you're all set
