Please explain how to draw flame tattoos with a sharpie

okay everyone today we're going to talk about how to draw a flame to arm tattoo using just a sharpie marker so in a previous video I laid down these uh you know just Old English looking letters today we're going to do a little bit on how to do do some flames some arm flames so if you want to do like a flame sleeve up this way I think what I'm going to do is just a little demo maybe around here going down and just see what that looks like so the first trick boys and girls is to practice flames on a piece of paper like this so if you have I have some car drawing flame videos that you'll want to check out but essentially you know all flames are are have these swoops so the best thing you can do is practice not in a sloppy way that I'm doing right now but practice flames wherever you tend to doodle stuff so that when it comes time for doing these on your arm or that of a friends or family members you will be ready alright so on laying this out I think what I'm going to do maybe is have a line that goes around this way and have flames coming down so I think what I mark might do first with my big pen is uh use this as just a sort of test line a guideline because I know I can wipe this off a little more easily than I can try to correct a Sharpie so I'm going to draw a straight line here and then I'm going to bring it around this way and man yeah it's it's pretty tough to try to draw this on yourself so if you're doing it on someone else it's going to be way easier there in mind to the oils in your skin markers pens things like that they do not want to stick to you so that's the great thing about the Sharpie is it will stick on just about anything alright so I've got a kind of straight line going around we have more time we can do it better but let's just go ahead with this and call it a day so got my base line I think what I want to do first is start that base line and bring it around like this all right so we've got a pretty good straight line here do the same thing there all right so from now for now I'm just going to go ahead and freestyle some flames coming up so here we go can you see all right cool so what we'll do is we'll do the initial round and then we'll um we'll go back and touch it up all right so how we looking so far that's pretty cool you can see we've got some sloppiness but we'll deal with that we'll deal with that later so what we can do is just extend out our sharpie line so we're going to go back and we're going to do some smudging in here give it some shading so we can end it with a real crisp point like that see that but what I want to do for the shading let's get get a line in there bring it around like that actually use my finger tip you can tell I've been doing a lot of smudging bring my finger tip in to smudge those lines like that so just like real flames you know they kind of have that tattoo look so if you have a sharpie that has been mostly used up you can do this but using your sharpie almost like blotting it but if you just have the one sharpie you're in class or at launching you're like man let me crank out some flames you can do it using this method so I might put a little bit in here smudge it out this way and I also might do a little bit more right at the base where it bends around like that you see that so all you need is a little dab and then you can you can blend it like that all right that's kind of cool so now we'll come around here we'll do it on this loop like this it'll bring it up here on this loop there check that out pretty slick all right so we've got a little bit of flames going so essentially from here on out it's just continuing this process all around I'll do a little bit more so you can you can check out how we do this so I like to bring it bring it a little low you can see this one I wanted to bring it up scoop around and bring it back down this way so for these I'm going to do the same thing I'm going to add a little bit more layer up here blend it out this way great thing is you don't have to do that awkward arm shaving thing like if you're getting a real tattoo so this is double bonus it works on works on two levels so I'm going to put a little bit more ink here blend that out like that a little bit here like that so it'll definitely take some take some practice but when you're done I mean it's going to be at least from the distance a fairly compelling looking tattoo I mean we could do a much neater job here but we're not going to because I'm just giving you a demo you could totally fill this in if you want to bust out your red sharpie you know you could make this colors too you can do as much with it as you want but again if you need to just bust out some cool-looking flames there you go so now the real tricky part how do we keep those flames going over here you're going to have to pretty much be a contortionist to pull this off but not as pretty but there you go so we've got a little bit there we've got it coming around here maybe what we'll do is we'll just finish this part out and and be done with it so I'll add there we go so I've got like a little flame flicker kind of thing here at the end I'm going to bring that around do my mandatory shading thing here and here and I think we're about done so um if you were in class or in a rush you could do something like this and if you're all done you want to go back over it real carefully with your with your fine point I think it turned out pretty good so here comes the close-up sharpie your best friend have a look here all right so there's our first tattoo and got the flames on like this a little bit over there but I don't have time to do that right now so from a distance you know if you were just walking down the street or whatever I think that could be that could go is a a real tattoo if you fill it in it'll be a lot crisper if you spend more time on the shading but make sure that you do get a sharpie leave the cap off and you can use it as your blender alright that's it for today
