hi I'm John nun from bitter Britain I want to show you how to do a proper applying a poultice first of all what you're going to want to do if you're doing hind leg is to get the tail out of the way there's nothing worse than having poultice in his tail so just do a little bow tie it pull it tight and that should be good enough now the other thing is I wanted to stand up on his own hind leg and then I done the preparation already I've gotten my poultice I've gotten my water I've gotten a sponge for myself and I have the bandage right there so first what I'm going to do is i'm using sore no mores equal lights or no more poultice which i'm then going to take it in my hand and i only put it down one way i put it on the affected area and maybe a little bit more now if i have a bruised ankle or something i will do the whole ankle i just don't do the inside i do the inside the outside i do the front of the ankle now the sore no more poultice has a lot of it's very creamy and very has a lot of moisture in it already a lot of times wood poultice is i ask you have to wet my hands a little bit prior to putting them on but not with this one i really like it it's quite nice and then what i have to do is i have to keep this poultice actually from going on the bandage or anything else so if i applied my poultice where i want it then I have to do a little bit of cleaning off my hands so i have my butt bucket readily available obviously it's not going to be perfect but i'm going to take my poultice paper this is this is a poultice paper that's already been pre made by spitfire kind of like it because it's already done for you if you don't have that you can also go to garbage bags but this is really handy and i'm going to put it on just like my standing bandage i'm going to lay it on nice and easy I went it first it's going to absorb it's going to cling to the horse's leg better and then I'm going to take my bandage and apply my standing bandage my no boat bandage first I like no bows they actually go around the horse's leg nice nicely they're a little bit better like any bandages you wash them one time so think about throwing them in the washing machine even actually when you first buy them then I'm going to apply my exterior bandage and what I do I make sure I keep it just taught enough I'm going to go down and make sure I'm coming down below the bandage and slightly and I'm keeping that totnes and I go down and I come back up I always start about the middle and I go to the bottom and then I come to the back to the top in the end you should almost be able to lay a pencil on your bandage it's a really well wrap bandage the velcro applies and that's how we're going to put on a poultice quick easy and efficient I'm John none I'm the owner of bitter Britain thanks for watching
