How to make acrylic boxes with a
milling machine. Turn on upper mill. Routing the V-groove with a 45° angle with the
double-sided face cutter. Cut the V-groove down to 0.3 mm (0,012 "). Swarf exhaust to upside. Inbetween the four cuts,
clean with pressurized air. That's how it looks like:
four exact V-grooves. Discard protection foil... .. from both sides. Look at the V-grooves.
They can be cut down to 0.3 mm (i.e. 0.012"). Tape all four grooves from the backside.
Opening of grooves showing down. Cut to shape with scalpel knife. Apply capillary activator into V-grooves
(openings show upside). Wipe dry with paper towel. Break up the V-grooves (openings upside).
The green tape on the backside keeps the parts together! Break out the 4 edges.
Leave the green tape on the backside! Now, cut ONE SIDE of the tape with scalpel knife. Turn 90°, cut again the same side of the tape. Bend up the sides of the box,
close them firmly with the
green tape you have cut in. Our tapes have a stretch-effect
for pressure application.
It will close the edges firmly together! Fill in Acrifix® 1S 0117 into the edges.
Our capillary activator lets the adhesive
flow into the gaps! Neither the capillary activator
nor the tape keeps
the adhesive from curing. Discard the green tape after
the adhesive became hard.
