hello and welcome to meadow brown bakery in this video I'll be showing you how to bake a pavlova start off by preheating your oven to 140 degrees Celsius then put three large egg whites in a bowl and then start whisking it the bubbles increase but you just carry on mixing and then when it gets to this consistency when they're soft peaks in it you start adding your sugar a tablespoon at a time so when you add in a tablespoon of sugar you carry on whisking until the sugars all mixed in and then just carry on then mix some corn flour with lemon juice or vinegar and then pour it into the egg mixture and then whisk it together so you're going to whisk this until it's nice and smooth and up grainy to check that it's ready you just lift it up and turn your bowl upside down and you can see it doesn't come out even if you shake it around it doesn't come out this shows that your meringue is ready so you're going to get your baking tray with grease proof paper on it and I've already drawn a circle template on it now you just spoon your meringue onto the template and then you just use a spoon to smooth it on to the side and then just raise the size up a bit so that there's a slight dip in the meringue bake in the oven for about an hour when it's ready remove it from the oven peel off the greaseproof paper and put it back on the baking tray switch off your oven and then put it back in there so you put it back in there with the oven switched off and just let it cool while the oven closed when it's cooled completely it's time to assemble it so I've got some double cream icing sugar vanilla extract and then just mix this until it's nice and thick and put it to one side when your meringue is nice and cool put it on a serving plate and spoon and whipped double cream and then just spread it on nice and neatly and then put some fruit on top I'm just going to use blackberries so just going to arrange my blackberries on top but you can use any soft fruits that you want and then that's it you get the cream mixture and the fruit and it just looks amazing and tastes great you keep this in the fridge and that's it thanks for watching and see again soon for more videos like this visit my website www.scottandjimdeserthomes.com that
