hey everybody today's video is going to be on the boy and Stitch the boyens stitch is worked in loops that you're gonna be working off your hook actually you're gonna be pulling them off one at a time only for the fact that you're not gonna be able to pull them through all at the same time like the stitch should be worked just because of the manner of how the stitch is going to be a little bit tighter than normal but it's you kind of work this stitch like you would be doing a Tunisian stitch but once you get the hang of the technique of the stitch it's really not a big deal to work it a lot of people are very intimidated by this stitch so I'm going to show you how to work this up so I'm going to put that back and all I did was just made a simple chain of I think about ten so I chained ten then I turned and then I just simply simple crocheted okay and each one of those so now I'm just going to chain up to here and now what we're going to do is I'm gonna come down just a little bit and I'm going to go into this next stitch now a buoyancy in order to start that off you're going to wrap your hook anywhere the average wrap is anywhere between seven and ten wraps so I'm just gonna wrap seven times because if I show you a ten it's going to be in no different than what I'm going to show you if I wrap seven so you're going to take your hook and you're going to wrap seven times so one two three four five six and seven and do not wrap these tightly okay just trust me you don't want to wrap too tightly so one two three four five six I think I lost one seven so you want to go into that next stitch you'll pull up that loop and leave yourself some room and this is the only time you're going to yarn over so now you're just going to start pulling through all of these loops on your hook and if you can tail only the first two loops here are loose the rest of them if you look around your hook just by nature of the stitch no matter how loose you do these stitches they're still going to be somewhat tied up against that hook and that's why I say just by nature of this stitch you can only control so much of the tension here so you're only going to be able to work I have only gotten to the first two off together and then I end up having to work one off at a time so you're gonna yarn over and you're gonna pull through so just start working through so you see I got the first two off now I end up having to pull down with my fingers from the bottom of those loops and then I just start working them off one at a time and sometimes I can get two in there closer to the end like right there I pulled through all three okay and then I end up chained in one just so I can lock that stitch in there alright that's your first bullion and then based on what your pattern says whether you skip a stitch or two stitches or going to the next one that will be up to your pattern I'm just gonna skip the next stitch and I'm gonna spread these out so you can see them so now you're just going to yarn over seven more times so three four five six and seven then you're going to go into that next designated stitch and do the same thing so you yarn over pull up and start working these loops off like I said I can go through the first two very easily then I have to start pulling them down just like this okay and you may have to switch them back to get a hold of them like I do then I can usually get through the last two without a problem and then you'll follow your pattern whatever it says to do so yarn over seven times three four five six seven go into the next stitch yarn over and pull up now you will yarn over and pull through and just keep working those loops off that hook okay now if you find a technique that works and you can get them off easier and bunches by all means you go for that but I've tried it several times and I just can't seem to get them off but it's not just me it's pretty much the way that this stitch has to be worked so again if you're working seven eight nine ten loops it's gonna be worked the same way you're just going to keep working them off until you're down to one so one two three four five six and seven go into this next stitch here grab your pull up yarn over pull through two or that's the way I do it and then I'm just gonna work them off because I'm not a tight crochet so my stitches are not tight here but just due to the nature of this stitch they just work out that way okay so we'll do this last one so seven times three four five six and seven so I'm gonna go into that last one then just start working those off okay and if you're working a pattern with this stitch you will just follow your pattern well I lost that one let me yarn over and do that one one more time three four five six seven and sometimes you will find that that will happen very easily you will lose that loop don't get upset with yourself if that happens that happens to me quite a bit with this it's not unusual this stitch you have to be very patient with it's not a very fast stitch okay so again if you're working with a pattern that includes the bullion stitch it will teach you how to move up which stitches to go into depending on if you skip the stitch in between which I did here okay I did skip a stitch in between but here I did not okay and if you don't skip a stitch in between you see it's going to give you more of a curved effect okay and you can make some really beautiful flowers with a bullion stitch I may do one of those in a tutorial for you but that's really all there is to the bullion stitch okay so I hope I made this stitch a little less stressful for some of you and until next time happy hooking
