hi my name is chef Tony today we're going to learn how to use a paring knife a paring knife is used to remove the skin from fruit or vegetables today we're going to use an apple I've chosen a 4 inch paring knife versus a 2 inch paring knife because of the size of the fruit if you have a smaller piece of fruit you can use a smaller knife whatever you're comfortable with we're going to do is put it at a slight angle and we're not going to move the knife we're just going to turn the Apple making sure that we be careful not to cut the meat and just remove the skin so we'll continue to turn the Apple it's fine if the skin just falls off in small pieces we don't have to worry about having one big line of skin now that we've got all the way around the Apple we're going to want to remove the bottom make sure we remove all the skin go back to see if we might have missed a few spots remove the skin from the top and now we have a perfectly peeled Apple you
