hardway this is Johnny Vasquez founder of useless today and in today's episode I'm going to teach you how to crochet the textured ripple stitch how to crochet the textured ripple stitch for this stitch you will need a crochet hook special thanks to our sponsors cassell for providing today's hooks today we are using their Eddie swing ergonomic crochet hooks in the size us 8 H and a ball of yarn special thanks to our sponsor knit out-of-the-box for providing today's yarn today we are using their 100% merino Lambs wool line in the color blue for this stitch you'll need to know the following techniques chain stitch single crochet double crochet front post triple crochet back post triple crochet to begin this stitch team is create a foundation chain in multiples of two plus three Row one we're going to begin by skipping the first three stitches this is going to count as a double crochet then we're going to double crochet one into each stitch across the entire foundation row row two after we've turned our work we're going to chain one then we're going to skip the first stitch and we're going to do a single crochet into the next stitch and we will continue doing one single crochet into each stitch all the way across our row and we'll end with a single crochet in the turn chain from the previous row row three we are going to begin by chaining three after we've turned our work and this will count as a double crochet then we're going to skip this first stitch here and we are going to do a front post triple crochet so we're going to yarn over to we're an insert our hook into the double crochet from the row two rows below and we're going to go behind this the post of the stitch okay so just like that then we'll yarn over and draw through and work our triple crochet as normal okay then we are going to do a double crochet into the next stitch so that would be this stitch right here alright and we're just going to repeat that sequence all the way across so let me do it again for you real quick we're going to come down into this double crochet front the row two rows below draw through and work our triple crochet and then we are going to double crochet into the next stitch so continue doing that all the way across real for we're going to row for after we've turned our work we're going to chain one then we're going to skip the first stitch and we will do a single crochet into the next stitch and we'll continue single crocheting in each stitch across the row row five after we've turned our work we're going to chain three and this will count as our first double crochet then we are going to skip the next stitch right here and we will double crochet into the stitch after this and this will start our repeat then we are going to do a double I'm sorry a triple crochet front post or front post triple crochet so we'll yarn over twice and we're going to go over the or behind the stitch the double crochet stitch from the row two rows below okay so we'll just continue repeating this sequence so we're going to do a double crochet into the next stitch and you want to make sure that you are doing the next stitch in the row and not the stitch that's right directly behind the front post triple crochet because that will throw off your pattern repeat so we're going into the double crochet now and you also want make sure that these stitches are nice and tight wrapped around your hook because they're going to get very loose as you continue working them so we'll continue doing the double crochet and triple crochet until the end of the row and when we reach the last two stitches in our row we're just going to do two double crochets and that will be one into one stitch and one into the turn chain okay then we'll turn our work so we're going to repeat rows so we're going to repeat rows two through five until we reached our desired length and that's how you crochet the textured ripple stitch after a few repeats your pattern should look like this what more news did today check out our website at news to today.com
