Please explain how to grow seeds with no transplanting moringa plants vegetable greens

here Moringa I'm sorry Ali had one leaf in the house right now yes I'm in the rain but I have to do this today so I figured you know what I'll set up my cameras and I'll show you what I'm doing I'll go back in the house and explain quickly what I did but I've got Moringa seeds that I just started this way you can start in different ways but I started in one of people tell and it was literally a week ago and now they're sprouting and they have to get planted it's so important that they have to get planted and I'll show you what I did is I went and moved away some of the wood chips because the wood chips in our yard are breaking down and we have great soil and I dug up the woodchips underneath that have composted down and I filled these containers I think I need more but I filled a few containers to get started I love using these there's soup containers or their almond milk or cashew milk I really like these containers and I'll explain more a little bit later why but for great containers you'll cut him down it's so easy I cannot believe it's raining nice any weather and no rain I'm not yeah now it seems like it's raining every day my daughter gets so mad because you were born here I said I know but he still came here I was planning it anyways it's really easy just cut it and then what I do I make a hole just above the bottom this way you could you can do it any way you want but this way there's always a little bit of water left inside but they just cut so again like I said I'll explain more soon why I love these containers mainly from Moringa but you can use it for anything but here's the sea and I'll show you a close-up when we get inside because I can't bring my cameras out it's raining and I'm all wet but I put the seeds in here and they just started sprouting within days and I have to move quick with Moringa so we'll do some close-ups a little bit later but they sprouted really good I've been getting a hundred percent sprout now yeah this is the way I do it you have to do it the way you want to do it because I dug up the soil and I didn't buy the soil this is pot soil but because I didn't buy it and it came out of my garden under the woodchips the breaking down manner of the woodchips and the weeds and everything I did see that there were some earthworms and stuff so what I'm going to do and I do it all the time some people might say no no no as I break up some leaves from the garden and just shove it inside not gonna put it exactly where where the plants are got where the seats are going to just shove it inside so in case I've got any critters that need something it really gives it a good start you know it works really good I usually put it on the bottom but I didn't this time and I just putting me in make a fool nothing fancy nothing fancy just make a hole because I'm gonna show you what I'm going to do in a second and just shove in some green leaves so if there's earthworms or microbes or something in there they're still gonna have something to feed on yes I should have used gloves but I'm not that's why my hands are always so bad so okay so now I've got leaves of just a few you don't need a lot just go in there gardening sorry for my guy pick some leaves I prefer yellowing at this point you could use green I prefer yellowing you take a stem from dinosaur kale it'll grow so you want yellowing leaves and that's it now because they're so tender and you know delicate I should say the Moringa I am using some potting soil and I'm gonna put some potting soil don't you have a scooper we'll just use it this way into each one of these so the top will be very fine potting soil you can use dr. earth Miracle Grow any of toppers Kellogg's you know whatever you want at this point because once they start to grow they're gonna set root into whatever else you put on the bottom from your compost or just use potting soil at this point it doesn't really matter but this is potting soil and you could mix it you get some garden soil because it's cheaper and then you can mix it with a good pints well but that's it now I'm gonna make sure this one's got a leak I hope I'm not gonna lose them because they really should have already been planted I'm gonna put that little guy in there and barely have them sticking out as soon as I get in the house I'm gonna water them like I said it's raining you see I don't know if you can see it I'm hoping it's in this shot oh my camera is getting wet okay let's see if you can see it here can you see if I can come in here and show you here's the leaf and there's the root now now technically these should have been planted before they got that far that's why I'm out here in the rain otherwise we wouldn't be out here in the rain doing it because they should have been planted as soon as the roots would start to show and this way you knew they were good and then get him in some soil so I waited too long let's not mix up what but yes if you want no this one's stuck because he's stuck in the paper towel I'm going to tear off the paper towel and he will be planted this one with the paper towel you're not going to matter it's gonna break down don't worry about that you don't want to break the roots now I guess I can talk about why I do it this way here come all the thumbs-down we have found Gary and I that Moringa plants when they're young very young seedlings do not do well being transplanted this is just what we have found we have bought trees in the beginning Moringa trees and when we bought them and transplanted them they went into transplant shock and did not come back as far as seeds if you get yourself good seeds I bought some good seeds online I got mine on eBay the first ones the trees that are huge huge around here came from eBay they grow so easy and so good if you get good seed like I said I've had a hundred percent seeds in here and I did not mean to do this many but I have a hundred percent and again this one got stuck in the paper towel and because their their roots are so delicate I just staged paper towel and all will go in now why do I put him in these food cartons okay the reason I put him in the food cart and this is gonna sound crazy to some people but you know what it works for me when this tree gets big and we're gonna go in the house I'm going to show you the big ones once I'm ready to put it out in the garden and it's warming up I don't transplant it this this little tree that's gonna come up in here is not going to get transplanted I will never transplant this tree I will find the place I'm going to grow it and I'm going to put it where I want to grow it now if I decided to grow this in a pot it would also not get transplanted this is my way so please I know all these people coming in no no no it does it works for us you don't have to do it this way I'm just sharing with you what works for us what we do and this is what we've done in different areas when we're ready to plant when I want to put this in the ground let's say I wanted to bring the tree here I don't I don't it gets too big it's gonna shade the whole yard for me here but if I wanted to Maringa tree right here behind me I would dig a hole take this whole pot and put it in the ground so a whole pot in the ground pot and all now I could take a knife and gently slice it or with my hands I could tear the holes that have already made a little bit open don't worry about how much you open it this tree is gonna be massive and it's going to bust this pot just like papayas do this will bust the puck it will leave the pot but it will never go in to transplant shock because it was never transplanted none of the roots will be disturbed you're going to take it this is why I do it in the hole and then you're gonna leave it and the trees gonna take off now I would not plant it at this age only because not because of the rain the rain is actually very good but we've been like really really cold at night we're gonna get down - they said 40 I could get down into 30s they don't like the cold so right now this is perfect to do outside in the rain I don't like the rain I know we need the rain but I personally don't want drink but we can do this out in the rain bring it in the house set them up and then when it gets to a good stable size and the most important thing is when the weather is not getting too cold at night then I can plan it outside this will last for months in the house if you wanted to grow Moringa and you were in an area that you cannot grow Moringa plant you just can't grow them in the winter they died back they completely died they're dead they're gone that's fine you have two different ways you can do it you could take it the same way I've done it started in the house even in the winter you have your house is a little bit warm doesn't need a whole lot of warmth it's just a little bit they'll grow as a house plant then in the spring when it's warm in your area you can put it out in your garden you can put it in a pot it doesn't matter and grow it and come with become winter when it freezes and it's nice it's done but you've been harvesting all those leaves and that's what's so important you may not get the pods you're not going to get the seeds growing from it because it does need to establish itself but the point is you're gonna get food Moringa is the most nutritious screen in the world that you can grow so you're putting outside it dies back in the winter that's fine don't worry about it you you gave it life and it's fine and you're gonna go get more seeds let's say you bought 100 seats I'm going seed set about two years ago it'll be fine just store them in a dry place plant some more seeds in the winter started in the house and do the cycle again if you want it you you can put it in a nice big pot you could go bigger than the little ones I've got here but a good sized pot five gallon but put it on a deck put it on a patio and grow it research showed that the Moringa was nutritious because of a large tap root it was sending into the ground and pulling all the nutrients up but there's been no research done I'm only going by all the research on reading and the new research is showing that may not be true this plant sucks up nutrients around it they have found that in areas they're planting Moringa that when they planted it it was shallow rooted and they grew it like a green forest like a green field like growing kale or colored or lettuce and when they harvested it and tested it it was still just as good so they're starting to think what it does is suck up the nutrients and the minerals not your every plant pulls up different nutrients and this one just happens to pull up almost everything so you don't have to worry about it is a great plant to grow it is a great plant to add in to anything green your eating we add it into our green tea when we make mint tea we add it into eggs we add it into soups we add it in to my green drinks anything green and Gary goes around just eating it like I said if you're in a cold area you're not gonna get pods you're not gonna grow your own seeds they're cheap you can buy 100 seeds for under $10 they're cheap buy the seeds you don't need a bought plant a hundred trees technically are planted too many but that's okay I'm gonna put some in a pot and grow them that way put one per container and the reason I say that is if the seed dies if the plant dies just push it over the little plant and stick another seed in there and grow it you can not transplant them you can try and you might be lucky on some it might completely die back and come back but they don't like being transplanted so I personally would start with one put one in each pot and from there see what happens to it if it continues to grow and it's a good healthy plant you're good to go but if you put two seeds in there you're gonna have to either put it in a pot and use it as a houseplant or something you can't put it in the ground but when you have two trees if you try to separate them and you damage the roots of both at that point you could lose both the other option would be if you wanted to really put you in there is two separate ice the one you don't want because it's gonna be really tough to grow tea trees together you can do it you can do it but I just do one seed per container the containers don't cost me anything one seed per container again I would use a container that is disposable you could use a peat moss one I'm not a big fan of the peat moss containers they seem to draw the water away from the soil when the peat moss containers are watered and you're using that and you water your plant I have found personally that they suck the water away people on containers are good if you sit them in a pot with some water so when you water and you get a good soaking because as soon as it's dry underneath the peat moss containers act as a sponge and it draws away and I have found plants that just gets you dry but you can do it you can do it I mean it's better to do that than to try to transplant it I would use a disposable container you don't have anything like this go to the store and get some the biggest paper cups you can find you know that we have a little bit of racks to him or something so the lasts for a while but I would go with the biggest paper cups you can find and then you do the same thing I did with paper cups coffee cups they make big coffee cups I've seen those at the dollar store I bought a whole package once of coffee cups that worked up they were about that big I don't remember how many ounces they were but it was a big package for 99 cents so you can use big coffee cups but that's all there is to it I do one seedlings per container super easy try not to damage the roots and like I said you can use a straight potting soil I just you know I'm cheap I have potting soil like yet I go to the store and I either buy it when I don't have it or I if I have it around see if the Albany thanks reduce sometimes they have torn bags and they reduce those but with these I'm gonna have to get these quickly in something too because they need to be planted like I said it could even now go into a transplant shock so I'm pretty much done with these I'm gonna get these in the house and show you what they look like up close they're dirty because I've got soil in there and then I will get the rest planted later I'll get these old lined up probably on my windowsill in the house the other way too is I stored in many of them in the container put one seed in the center keep it water and find the warm place when you're starting it it on top of your refrigerator I use on top of the refrigerator even right next to the refrigerator my refrigerator is right next to my cooktops so I just line them up on the counter just next to my refrigerator it's it's just lightly warm and just that slight warmness there they'll sprout right there once they're sprouted you can move them in your kitchen window but I wouldn't put them outside if it's too cold they don't like a cold so let's get in the house it's rainy I'm wet and then I'll come back and pot up the rest of them and get them all ready so when the weather warms up finally we have nice warm sunny days and get back at my garden all the birds are here they're like coming around the squirrels the birds everybody's here and I can get the rest of them in areas time to grow summers health plant does not have plastic I'm gonna grow some this year as a plant I think I'm gonna put one on my deck that's the other garden I'm doing I'm gonna do my regular thing and I'm gonna show you that I don't think you need a backyard to grow food so with that let me get in the house let's go in the house okay we're back in the house now out of the rain and now I guess that's it I was just going to show you this is the seats that we had out in the rain the thing is their money so they're hard to see but they're still in there and I've got to get them planted yeah the paper tells a part but I'm gonna show you here and share with you how I do my seeds when I want to do it with a paper towel kostik bag and a pen so it's so easy to get seeds to start in a plastic bag if that's the way you want to start them so you just get a ziploc bag and you write the name of what the seats are so you don't forget and then I put the date as well you don't have to put how many seeds cuz you'll know and then what I do is I get a white paper towel and I dip it in some water or you can spray it whatever you want to do it doesn't matter if it's tap water or bottled water sometimes bottled water might be better but it doesn't really matter or rain water but you want to get the paper towel damp very damp but not sopping wet so if he gets really wet all you have to do is just wring it out just to wring out the what extra water cuz you don't need that much water then you lay out the paper towel and it doesn't matter if you use a big piece or a small piece of paper towel just unfold it lay it out the damp paper towel on your table or wherever you're doing this and then that's when I put the seeds inside I wouldn't overdo the amount of seeds you can put whatever you want but I overdid it on the last one but you put four or five on the marine goes you really don't need a whole lot of plants four would be really sufficient even if you're gonna grow them in a pot as your green plant remember marinas are nitrogen fixers for your other plants as well so even if you chop them out it's good for the other plants then just put the seeds in fold it up put the damp paper towel with the seeds now back in the plastic bag and then close the zip lock lock top that's it now what you want to do is find the warm place to put it and you know you don't want it really cold don't stick it outside and put it on top of the refrigerator or someplace like that not on the windowsill at this stage you don't want them in the sunlight so just find someplace in the house it could even be just sitting on your table just don't in the window because if it's winter it's gonna be really cold and if it's summer it's gonna get too warm so just find a nice place out of this sunlight and that's it and you're ready to go then check them in a few days because they really sprout fast so that's how simple it is and so easy now what I would suggest with the Moringa is if you know your seeds are good and that is basically a way to test the seeds that's how you know they're good when you put them in a bag and you label them and you watch them if the seeds sprout you know you've got good seats so if you've got a lot of seeds through some of something and you're not sure take a few seeds and do it this way the way I showed and then you'll be able to test your seeds but as far as Moringa truthfully just like this one this one is so it's been in here for now Oh about a month month and a half and look how big it is technically this would be ready to go outside now as you can see there are two in this one now I tested three seats this is what I wanted to test them in the plastic on some of my own seeds that we grew but I tested three small seeds and I tried to transplant one out and it died it just dried up and died so all I did was just put another seed inside and it grew right away within within a week I had a new a new tree that's why I don't like transplanting or messing around with the marina's when they're this young there's no reason they mess around these containers I'm using are free if the seed doesn't grow in about two to three weeks and the weather is good and it's warm then I'll just pump another CDN if it grows so well what are you gonna do but with these chill I'm gonna not separate him if I tried to separate them the chances are I would lose them both because if I try to separate them and damage their roots they both could die the other thing I could do is just chop one down and eat it and then let it let it grow but I think I might try something different with this I'm just thinking about putting it in a pot letting him grow as a green plant on my deck and harvest the leaves I have been harvesting the leaves this has been growing in the window his full leaves on the bottom and I did harvest the leaves and we did eat them so with that I'm see how that goes and then it's really simple if you put it in a container and you you know with any of your free containers unless you want to get a peat moss container like I explained and then just put it in a tray or something and if you want sometimes I move this around and I don't have a tray and I put it in a plastic bag just slip a bag over it that's another way of watering it not having water get all over so you can use a plastic bag but that's it you just take a seed this is how I prepped it like I was sharing with you outside it's got native soil on the bottom then it's got some potting soil on the top you can use potting soil you can use straight native soil if you've got really good compost soil or good soil go use regular soil but then you just put it in and push it down to about your first knuckle that's it cover it up water it good in the beginning you don't need to put it in the window I would just sit at some place in a warm place I sit these next to my refrigerator because a refrigerator when it's working keeps it warmer by almost 10 degrees and I have my little toy that I that I got but all I can share with you how I found out at night especially at night and these are seeds that I bought a couple years ago over two years ago and they are still good you could buy a hundred seeds I'll put a link on the same guy that I bought my seeds from and eventually will get seeds going because we've got so many pods we just have to get organized but Owen that was the reason I did that did it in the plastic bag I wanted to test the worst of the worst there was some seeds that were so tiny so what I did was I put them in the plot in them you know plastic bag with the paper towel the way I showed you there because I was testing them because they looked really small and they all sprouted so it didn't matter on the size of the seed they were all really really good so if you buy some seeds and you're gonna let's say you're gonna do it it's almost a house plant or a death plant don't plant all 100 seats if you get 100 seats just you just need four or five or whatever you want because if you're in an area that you cannot grow it all year at the end of the season when it dies that's the end of it you stir a new seed in the winter in the house and then you can put it outside and enjoy it all the time and you'll have multiple plants with great nutrition to them you're not going to get drumsticks if you're in an area that they cannot grow but big deal you can get a hundred seeds for under ten dollars that's includes shipping and everything they're cheap and you're only gonna grow a few I'm even grow as many as you want so you can have your hundred seeds last for years just keep it in a dry spot and that's what we're doing we're harvesting our seeds and we're gonna plant them all over and they're a good chop and drop plant because they're a nitrogen fixing plant in your garden so that's why a lot of people like them also they're growing in them as I stated earlier in countries as a green vegetable basically like you would your kale and your collar they're just growing fields of it harvesting the leaves they chop them and then they start over so this is why I think everybody should be growing them they're just a fantastic plant this these two I'm sure would be much happier outside but we've been hitting 40 degrees at night and it would lose all its leaves and struggle and it's not worth it in about a month or whether it's going to be warmer and then we can put these outside wherever I want now I've got all these growing and more here to plant and more then I threw in the bag to demonstrate so I'll get those but really all you need to do once you know your seats are good you don't need to mess around with this just put in a container a container that you can drop in the ground this container is biodegradable it's going to fall apart so as the tree gets big and you know they can get big trucks it's just gonna bust the pot the pots gonna get waterlogged it's gonna break apart and yet the plant will never go into transplant shock because it's just going to send its roots out in the different holes and then the roots are gonna get bigger at the plant no pots gonna fall apart by then you've got yourself a tree that's five feet ten feet tall so I think I've answered all your questions with the seeds when you pump the seed in find the worm place you can leave it in your window during the day if you want and then put it somewhere else but once you've got the seed in the soil and it hasn't started yet there's no hurry on sunlight the most important thing that starts the seeds Moringa seeds is a warm area and it does not be that warm 50 degrees so you just want to kind of keep it in a warm area once the seedlings come up like these then yes then you want to get them into sunlight and I'm gonna put these on the windowsill and then once our weather gets warmer I'm gonna find places to put them my hope I don't want that many we have what we have a point of view min now we have two massive trees and then we've got a few that are smaller and gary said he planted some Tracy transplanted them and the ones he transplanted they all didn't make it and maybe it was too cool in the area but again he didn't do it in the way I did it he actually had them growing in plastic pots he took them out he transplanted them they went into shock and like I said he even lost the first trees that he bought so I think with that I've answered all your questions if not ask questions if you've got another way of doing it that's why oh there's the little one I transplanted various see it dried out I transplanted him out of here cuz there were three put him in this pot did it so good I had all the roots and everything and yet he's still dried out so what I did right next to him I just took a seed and I just popped them another seed in one of ours now I'm growing our seeds but that's why you do it line up as many pots as you want when you get started pop one seed into each pot and then if it doesn't come up when all the others come up then pop another seed in it's done easy it's not gonna bother that the other seed didn't sprout it just becomes part of the compost so ask questions and give ideas and write what you want underneath because these are fascinating me I think everybody needs to grow bees because they are one of the greatest plants to eat and why like I said we we use it in so many different ways so with that have a great day and don't forget to eat what you go good bye everybody 11 minutes my five minutes turned into 11 minutes how I do this
