okay this is how to score print your mushrooms the first thing you're going to want to do is you're going to want to collect your mushrooms and as you can see here I have them in a jewelry box and the jewelry box is clean make sure you want it to everything to be as clean as possible now I'm dumped I do not have a glove box and I do not have all the roping alcohols and all the sterilizers but I'm not a mycologist I'm a student so the first thing you're gonna want to do is collect them in the box and make sure you have all of your equipment ready here you have a little plastic storage container that I put a sheet of aluminum foil in it's fresh make sure everything's clean and then I have no cards I'm using to sport print my mushrooms scissors to cut the stem so then I have wide-mouthed jars to put over my mushrooms prevent draft and in any other spores in the air from getting into my sport print so you have the notepad cards and let's begin so you're going to want to identify the mushroom that you want to sport print first so like so I'm going to spore print um about this one I'm going to spore print this one it's got good fans you cannot see that but it's fine it's perfectly good fans okay you see the stem you're going to want to cut that stem as close to the cap as possible so I'm going to do that right now I'm going to pause the video okay I just cut the stem right down to the cap as you can see right here it is cut so I just set it down because you do not want to handle these guys you want to hold them and handle them as less as possible okay so you're just going to gently take up your cap like so now I'm just gonna rest it my hands gently trial it over I'm gonna set it down on my note card so that the spores can fall out of the cap onto the note card okay kind of get that where you want it and there you go now you're going to want to put your jar over it I'm going to put it let's start over it it's right on top of it like so in the purpose of the jar or putting a bowl or anything over it is to prevent any draft or any uncoming spores to lay it into your note card or into wherever you're taking your spore friends now and whenever you're taking spore in France you can set the caps on anything just as long as you're going to be able to collect the spores after that and a good range to leave the cap sitting there on the note card would be 24 hours to 36 hours so it's gonna it's gonna set that are good overnight so don't be too antsy or too heard Li about it because in the end it's gonna have the same result just try to keep everything as clean as possible okay so whenever you're setting your jars or your Bulls whatever you want just as long as it's gonna have weight and it's just gonna block any draught from beating over it as long as when you're setting that make sure it's on a flat surface now I have my storage container on top of a coffee table right now that I'm using for the purpose of my spore printing now it is a flat surface but I have a storage container as an extra little shield from draft and from my jars getting knocked over etc so again you're gonna want to repeat the same procedure now I have two easter mushrooms again same process cut it right at the stem there and there so I'm going to cut their stems and then I'm going to set them into my spore printing chamber okay there's my two oyster mushrooms again you see the two top parts I had to split both of them in half because they were so big and don't be afraid to do that because it's not a big deal you're gonna get the same result and if it works and it makes them more flat go ahead and do it there's nothing wrong with it it's not going to harm the spores because those are where the spores are so thanks for checking out my video and if you want to see more of my mushrooms and more videos check out my website and check out my blog my blog will have my updates on my mushrooms how they're doing and a time-lapse of pictures to see how much they've grown and on my website I have way more tutorials and way more information and detail and depth of different techniques and different ways to do spore printing and anything involved with mushroom cultivation so subscribe check out my videos rate like comment feel free to leave a comment and ask me anything I check my messages every day and I will get back to you
