brought to you by 1a auto calm your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet hi i'm mike from 1a auto I hope this how-to video helps you out and next time you need parts for your vehicle think of 1a auto calm thanks in this video we're going to show you how to serve as the headlights on this 2009 Pontiac GXP same for any two thousand six to nine gxb and we're going to show you both if you need to change the entire assembly or if you just need to service the bulbs and items you'll need our new headlights from 1a auto comm we sell very nice replacements in case yours are clouded or cracked or broken and an 8 millimeter and 10 millimeter sockets and a ratchet with an extension start up open up your door and pull your hood really slick and there's a safety hook underneath reach in push up on it and lift over hood three bolts hold your headlights two seven millimeter bolts on top and then a ten millimeter bolt down and there use a socket ratchet and extension to get that 10 millimeter let's get up here as I remove that the rest of the way and then I'll use a seven millimeter socket and ratchet to remove the two on top pull your headlight out a little bit and reach down in and grab that 10 millimeter bolt so you don't lose it and then you pull the top brace up and release the headlight for some and then pull the inside and the outside out until you will be so ball it's at the bottom and your headlight comes out and to disconnect the harnesses there are little red safety clips that you pull out first then you press on the tab and disconnect that is the main headlight this is the signal light same thing pull the red tab out press on the connector and pull it off and then the side marker light just has a little tab you press pull that off and then it's going to change the bulbs the bulbs I'll just turn counterclockwise and come out the main headlight bulb counterclockwise comes out put your new one in clockwise to lock it same thing with a signal light counterclockwise and then the bulb will just pull out put your new one in and put it back in and clockwise to lock it and same thing with the small side marker lens and our original headlights in good shape so we're just going to put it back in but again at 1a auto we do sell good replacements if your headlights are fog to cloudy a yellow or broken you'll want to connect your three connectors and then there's a little ball socket at the bottom that you need to push into place so we'll get the headlight closed reconnect with the three connectors on the to make sure you place or pushing the red locking clips kind of put the headlight in place put the inside in first and get everything too much lined up and then push the headlight in to walk that lock it in place and for that ten millimeter bolt is down in there I put a piece of bulging little piece of paper towel put it on the head of the bolt and then insert it into the socket that way you can hold it upside down and put it down into place and you need to usually put off pretty good on the headlight to line up the hole and put that the bolt goes in to see I started try to start it here doesn't quite go in so then I reposition myself a little bit again pushing ahead like start the bolt up and I'll fast forward here as I tighten up that bolt and then it put in the two seven millimeter bolts and tighten them up and then once you're all set get your tools out of there close your hood and you should be good to go down the road thanks for tuning in we hope this video helped you out next time you need parts for your car please visit 1a auto comm also check out our other helpful how-to as well as diagnosis videos
