Please explain how to make anisette cookies - cara's cucina

hey everyone I'm Kara DeFalco with Kerri DiFalco calm and as we continue with our Christmas cookies this week we are making my aunt Linda's anisette cookies and as that cookies are tradition for the holidays in my house and with my family and hopefully they'll become one for years too so we start with three cups of all-purpose flour and to that we are going to add 1 cup sugar 3 eggs 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 cup of milk and 1 cup of vegetable oil we're just gonna mix it all together with the big wooden spoon it's gonna make a really sticky dough because this batter is so sticky and Linda's trick is that she always keeps a little bit of flour nearby and you just kind of keep sprinkling the top of it with the flour and keep your hands floured so that as you grab the pieces to form the cookies it doesn't get too sticky on your hands so you're just gonna pull off golf ball sized amounts of dough start rolling them into a ball and then we're gonna make them into a snake and then from there what we're doing as we put them on the cookie sheet and they're really soft is you just kind of want to spiral them along and mound it up so that the top the end kind of sits on top of the other piece and that's what's gonna make the nice rounded cookie shape cookies are gonna go in a 425-degree oven for about 10 minutes or just until the bottoms get nice and colored now I know you heard me say that these are anisette cookies but we haven't done anything with anisette yet that is because that is in the frosting but these have to cool completely before we can get to that so we're going to take them off the hot cookie sheet put them on a rack and really give them the time to cool down we're gonna finish our anisette cookies with our frosting so we're going to use about a half cup of confectioner's sugar and three to four tablespoons of the anisette to get like a little syrup and then we're just gonna dip the cookies into the tops of the cookies into that so we're just gonna take our cookies kind of dip the top of them in there let any excess drip off and you see I have our my rack with foil underneath it so we make not as much of a mess and these are gonna go back on there and we're just gonna top them with some of the rainbow nonpareil sprinkles there we go just keep going if you run out of frosting make a little more that is it for this week at carat DeFalco calm I hope you guys enjoy these cookies and share them with friends and loved ones I will see you guys next week
