in previous videos I've discussed the importance of general location and then specific location for putting your bait sites once you've got your bait site chosen the most important factor is getting the Bears there quickly and keeping them on the baits you keep them on the baits with quality baits and lots of it and that's a topic for another video but in this video let's discuss the importance and the tactics for getting bears on your baits quickly it's so important to make your bait work fast because you've got other people that are baiting around you you want the Bears to get to your bait first and stay there and also maybe in some states you've got a very short time law you can start baiting before the season so you got to get the action going so you have a chance to kill a bear on opening day and the most important thing that you need to do is use quality cents that are appropriate for the season now I tend to use more natural sense in the spring such as beaver castor and food flavored cents and then in the fall I like to use more of the good smell and sweet stuff like butterscotch and cinnamon and you know berry sense like raspberry and blueberry and so forth like those types of spray sets I also use loud meat sense like bacon and so forth so those are all important use the appropriate cents for the season and here's one of the keys I believe to really getting bears on your bait quickly think of three different levels think of the ground think of the body of the bear and then think of up high starting with the ground we want sense on the ground that the Bears will get on their feet and they'll track around the area and spread the word so to speak north woods bear products Gold Rush is excellent for that because you mix it with cooking oil and then you just dump it on the ground splash it around and so forth it is a super strong smell it is fantastic for really spreading the word and getting the getting the scent out there so that the Bears will get that on their feet and track it around the next level is you would like to have some sense on their fur that they're tracking around so I spray spray oil spray sense like the blueberries and so forth I like I like raspberry gold mist is a good one this is a good place to use like a bacon flavored scent smoky bacon flavor from North Woods is excellent you want it about the body height then spray it on the leaves and branches where the Bears walk down the trail so as they leave they're spreading that scent around okay you got the you got the bottom you got the middle then you got up high I like to throw bacon up in the trees and so the it's really spreading it around the wind can carry it for long distances spray your oily sprays up in the trees as well and so once you've got those sense at all three levels you got the best chance of bringing those bears in getting them on your baits very quickly and that's the key to harvesting a bear on opening day
