Please explain how to make an herbal infusion (and some recipes!)

hi guys Jessica from delicious obsessions calm and I wanted to throw together a super quick video and show you how to make an herbal infusion I get a lot of questions about herbs on my site because I write about them and I talk about them a lot and people think they're herbal infusions are more complicated than they are but infusions are essentially just an herbal tea so if you know how to make a cup of herbal tea you can make an infusion super simple all you do toss all of your herbs in a jar or a bowl and then add hot water so I have a gallon jar here that has a bunch of herbs in it let's see this batch has some red raspberry leaves some nettles some orange peel lime peel a little bit of stevia leaf some Rose hits I think that's it for this batch but I make my tea by the gallon and I make it a couple of times a week so I just toss all of my herbs in this gallon jar here so you can see the ton of herbs in there and then I heat up some water I have a stainless steel electric kettle that I use and I keep a lid on it so you just toss all of your herbs oh sorry for the shakes so there's all my dried herbs down in there and I've already added one batch of water to it but I need to add the rest so I'm just going to take my electric kettle and just throw the water in there and you're gonna fill it up all the way but make sure you leave a tiny bit of headroom so I feel it that's like the shoulder because those herbs are gonna expand as they soak up the water and then the last thing that I do is I just give it a good stir and get all of those herbs down in there in the water look at that so everything is coated and you'll be amazed at how much these herbs will expand sometimes they come up over and if I've overfilled it you'll actually leak your tea all over the counter so don't do that and then I just place a lid over the top very loosely I don't tighten it and then I let that sit for I typically let my infusions go for at least 24 hours but you could do anywhere between 4 hours and 24 hours sometimes I've gone as much as 48 hours before I strain it off and stick it in the fridge so you really can let it go for a while the longer you let the herbs soak the more medicinal the tea is going to taste so just with the timing and figure out a time amount that works for you and suits your taste buds the best so that's it that's how to make an herbal infusion super simple you guys can start doing that all below and I'll link to some recipes down below for some herbal infusions that they have on my site and then also on my ntp site she has a few really great recipes and I'll leave those links down in the video description below so that is it have a great day guys
