hi my name is Sifu David Whelan head instructor today we're here to show you how to tie your sash at the wire Lu kung fu Academy having a well tied sash begins with storing your sash with respect every time you take your sash off fold it neatly you'll start by positioning the sash behind your back paying careful attention to keeping it smooth and flat next you want to determine how far down your leg to have the first part of the sash this will vary from person to person make a half fold and pin it to your hip then bring the sash across the front and behind the back again making sure it stays flat and smooth you're going to snug the sash up this part is important to keeping it tied properly and then come past the original part join your fingers together and here you'll fish a portion of the sash up to create a pocket once the pocket is formed bring the original section of the sash through the pocket and then tie the first part of a bow and then bring an end back through the pocket so the bow rests neatly inside it then you can position the sash so it looks proper and the ends are equal again notice at the back it's kept flat and smooth as possible keep practicing tying your sash similar to your kung-fu training with repetition you will get better at it at the Bartlett kung fu Academy attention to detail is a value we hold strong having a well types ash shows your mindfulness to this tradition
