I am going to bring my batter water salt and sugar to a boil you're gonna be staring this on medium heat for our little while so get comfortable don't turn the heat up to try to make it go faster because you will end up burning it just be patient okay if you can tell the mixture is starting to turn a little bit of a caramel color I'm going to put I'm gonna put the candy thermometer in to see where we're at okay my mixture came to a 300-degree on the candy monitor so I poured it into my dish nice caramel color and I'm just gonna tilt to the dish to get it all over the bottom and while it is still scalding hot I will put in my 1/2 cup of chocolate chips you can use semi semi-sweet or milk chocolate I've got milk chocolate today and just evenly sprinkle 1/2 cup over and it will melt pretty quickly and you can spread it across the top okay the chocolate chips have melted I'm just gonna smear them across the top until it completely covers all of the toffee okay I've got that chocolate spread out and now I'm going to sprinkle my finely chopped pecans over the top you can use walnuts you can use almonds if you want to go a different route make it festive you can use chopped peppermints or candy canes it's really good okay I'm going to put this in the refrigerator so the toffee and the chocolate can Harden and I'll meet you back here in a couple hours here you go it's been two hours I've cut up the toffee and it looks delicious I will leave the ingredients and directions in the description box below let me know send me a comment if you um if you make this let me know how you like it and thanks for watching y'all have a great day
