Please explain how to make a prosciutto and brie grilled cheese sandwich

hey everyone I'm Judith Jones food and travel editor of the gourmet Travel Easter and today I'm gonna be showing you how to make it for shoot - and breed grilled cheese sandwich this is a very sophisticated and elegant take on your normal grilled cheese so what are you gonna need is two slices of French bread we have two to four ounces of double cream read two tablespoons are the butter 2 teaspoons of fig spread and two to three slices of prosciutto ham here so this is actually one of my favorites I love that combination of the sweetness of the fig with the a delicious saltiness of the prosciutto and of course the breed that's right debris one of my favorites a really soft buttery add cheese we've got double cream brie here which is a higher ratio of cream to milk so that's why it's even softer and if you want to go even more indulgent you can get triple cream but we're using double cream so we have our cast iron pan we've got it to a medium heat put it a little bit lower there we're gonna get it nice and hard for our grilled cheese so first things first let's get our butter now we're gonna be generous with our butter and we're gonna spread it on our lovely French loaf right here obviously you know you can choose a wheat bread anybody you like really but this French one just it's just a nice subtle flavor to go with all those other distinct sweet salty flavors gonna have in the sandwich so spread it both sides you know sometimes it's good to let the butter and be in room temperature a little bit because it obviously softens it and it's easier to just bread but if you want to use margarine that's fine so I'll get in there it's good to use a nice good amount so gets nice and golden for when we grill it good perfect good stuff so we are gonna put our first bread butter side down onto our cast iron pan right there and that's gonna brown pretty quickly so next thing let's get a lovely Brie oh and look at that it's just just like butter you can just cut that a little bit and we're gonna place it on top of our gorgeous bread let's see if we can get the knife here do it with that lovely spread it as much as you can I mean this is just it's almost liquid look at it really gorgeous luxurious cheese your friends will definitely impressed with this kind of grilled cheese that's for sure so once that's all spread there get it nice and covered we are gonna get our fake paste and we're just gonna put a good lashing on top of that Brie now we all know brie goes great with a little bit of sweetness sometimes an apple but this fig just is gonna work great so let's run it on top of there and that's toasting nicely on the bottom watch out because sometimes your bread will fall apart but don't worry trying to keep it all together like so great and that's but not least we have our wonderful prosciutto which is an Italian ham and it just has a really salty gorgeous taste and that's gonna go great we're gonna layer it on top of here this is a great homage antastic all right so let's get our other atlo butter side up we're gonna place it on top of the bread let that go a couple minutes and we'll give it a flip over great so it's been a couple of minutes and that brie is just oozing so deliciously into the fig and the prosciutto and into our French country bread and it's time to cut so great oh and you can just smell all those fantastic flavors wow this is fast becoming my favorite grilled cheese I have to say just the smell of it the look of it fantastic and there you have it that is how you make a prosciutto and grill brief Salvage thanks for watching today everyone and make sure to subscribe to our website to watch plenty of other fantastic videos and if you have an email request you can email requests at Mahalo calm and we'll be sure to answer any questions or queries you might have
