this is the sling you will have on after your shoulder surgery your surgeon will put this on for you in the operating room i will demonstrate how to put it on there are two components the sling and a bump that goes against your body i'll start by demonstrating how to put the sling on the first step is to place your elbow in the sling making sure the apex of your elbow is in the apex of the sling then take the strap around your shoulder and neck and clip it in the front you may use your hand to assist then take the strap and make sure it goes underneath your thumb at this point take the bump there's a curved side that goes against your body and place it against your body the bump and the sling will velcro together then take the strap bring it to the front and clip it in the front there is one final strap that connects a sling to the bump in the final position your arm should be against your side with your hand facing forward there is also a ball which connects right to your sling that is used after your surgery to do gentle motion squeezing the ball with your hand in order to take the sling off unclip the belt around your waist and you can slide the strap over your neck keeping your arm by your side and then slide your arm out of the sling when your arm is out of the sling keep it around your side or stomach at all times
