Please explain how to replace the door latch

hi it's Steve today we'd like to show you how to change the door latch on your dishwasher and it's a really easy job all we're going to need is a number fifteen Torx screwdriver a small flat blade screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers let me show you how we do it now the first step in this repair will be to disconnect power to the dishwasher so locate the electrical panel and turn off the appropriate breaker or remove the appropriate fuse and that's open the dishwasher door fully and then we'll remove the screws around the perimeter of that inner door panel using our number fifteen Torx driver once we've removed all the screws we'll separate the inner door panel from the Oder door panel next we're going to remove this shield over the control panel there's a single plastic tab just release this tap the hover over the control board and pull it away from the opposite side next we can remove the whole assembly and then we're going to take the four wires off of the terminals on the switch and just take note of the location of each of those wires grasp the terminal and pull them straight off next we need to remove the actual switches from the latch and to do so we're going to knock these two plastic pins out so just press one min from one side with your small flat blade screwdriver and then pull it completely through same with the second one and just lift the two switches out next we'll flip that over you note the two pivot pins on the end of the latch and attach it to the handle so we're simply gonna spread the little tab on the handle all pushing up and away with the latch the same for both sides and then we roll it to install the new one I'm just gonna line up those two pins again we'll spread those little tabs just enough we can fit them in make sure it's latched properly and then we'll go ahead and put the switches back on so I locate the push button on the switch up against that tab on the handle and just hold them in place and then line them up with the pin push that completely through so that it engages both switches it fits into the end pieces yeah we can put it back in the dishwasher then we'll open the dishwasher door back up and then we'll reinstall the wires to the latch we'll start by reconnecting the wires to the terminals on the switch make sure they're pushed down firmly and also make sure there's no signs of any arcing or corrosion and if so we would need to replace those terminals this is the assembly in the door so that the holes for the screws line up and then we're ready to reinstall the cover already Control Board will need to engage these two tabs on the right side and under the frame sit down over the latch and I line up the tab on the left side and make sure it engages and that little hook on the back of the control panel carefully lower the inner door panel on to the outer door panel making sure that we don't disturb the mechanism for the dispersion and rinse aid dispensers with the actuators on the bottoms on the control it should sit nice and flush without any pressure and then we can reinstall the retaining screws and once all the retaining screws are secured you can close the dishwasher up and our repair is complete
