if you would like to request the video send an email to questions add new stitch add a calm how to knit the peppercorn stitch for this stitch you will need a pair of knitting needles and a ball of yarn special thanks to our sponsor lion RAM for providing today's yarn today we are using their extra soft wool blend from the Martha Stewart crafts line in the color winter sky for the stitch you will need to know the following techniques knit purl knit through the back loop slip stitch to begin this pattern you will need to cast on in multiples of four plus three Row one begin by knitting three then we're going to begin our repeat by knitting one peppercorn stitch so to do the peppercorn stitch we're going to knit and then we're going to leave the stitch we're gonna move this stitch off of the needle and replace the stitch that we just knit back on to your main needle now you could place it all the way and move your needle back out but what we're going to do next is knit through the back loop so you can actually just leave the needle in the loop if you'd like so now we're going to knit through the back loop and we're going to place the stitch back on to the main needle and knit through the back loop again and then we're going to do that one more time so essentially what we're doing is almost a crochet chain and it's going to create this elongated stitch as you can see here now when we bring that back in line with our regular knitting it's going to create a little mini bobble that's going to pop out and you can see some of the other bobbles that we've already made how they kind of stick out from the work so we're going to finish our repeat by knitting three ok so now we're going to repeat the peppercorn stitch and the knit 3 until the last three stitches or till the end of the row so I'm going to do with one more peppercorn stitch just so you can see we're in a knit and then move the stitch back on and then I like to just insert the needle back in rather than just moving it over so that's 1 2 3 ok that's the peppercorn stitch row 2 we're going to purl all stitches row 3 we're going to begin by knitting one then we're going to start our repeat by knitting a peppercorn stitch and then knitting three so repeat the peppercorn stitch and the knit three until you reach the last two stitches when you reach your last two stitches we're going to do one more peppercorn stitch and then knit one row for we're going to purl all stitches so repeat rows 1 through 4 until you have reached your desired length and that's how you knit the peppercorn stitch after a few repeats your pattern should look like this one more news today check out our website at new stitch de comm new stitch day is a crafter e-media production check out our other shows at fiber story TV and yarn tripper calm this video is licensed under a creative commons attribution-noderivs 3.0 unported license which means use it on your web site put it in your patterns but please don't change anything
