okay guys so i wanted to do a quick tip video on how to do horse's feet uh you don't really need to see my face in this video because that's not uh not really important so i'm gonna show you guys how to put some hoof dressing on because uh i've seen so many people do it the wrong way and it's just it's always annoying to me because there's directions on the bottle which if i can find the back of it there see there's a little direction paragraph that long paragraph right there well like long this way not as like a long paragraph um but i've already done this foot here so what you want to do when you put the uh the hoof dressing on or hoof oil is you want to put it on the coronet band or the coronary band whichever if you watch my anatomy video we talked about that because the coronet band is just like your cuticles they actually will take in more moisture than your nail will the reason why horses hooves and people's nails don't allow moisture in is because it keeps it from causing infections or any type of rot or fungus from getting in there so that's just a barrier to keep to preserve their feet and keep their feet more healthy so if you put hoof dressing just on this front piece of the wall then you're not going to do any good it's just a waste of your time and a waste of hook dressing so you don't want to do that and you also want to put it on the bottom of the foot there's really no reason for that i've seen people do that and it just drives me nuts every time some people do put black hoof polish on the horse's foot for a show that's a completely different thing that you can put all the way down that doesn't really matter that's just an aesthetic thing it's not really a hoof oil but also if you see a farrier rasping this hoof wall down going this way on the huff wall they're an idiot they don't know what they're doing um because if you actually rasp this front piece off what it'll do is it'll become a sponge like the cornet band and it will allow those infections and rot and uh fungus inside the foot because you've taken away that heart outer barrier and yes bugsy's feet are long telling you guys that right now this is actually three weeks of growth in like a couple of days because she got her feet done wednesday and day saturday but this is only three weeks so i have to do her feet uh pretty soon but she's insane um and i only use the hoof dressing to soften her feet up so they're not as brittle so i'm going to do this offside foot which i should be on the other side to do this but she will hopefully be a good sport about it so you're going to take your hoof dressing and i like to ring the brush out a little bit on the sides because i don't want it dripping everywhere i don't want too much you don't need a whole lot and you're just going to move the horse's hair out of i'll move this because i'm sure it's in the way you're going to move the hair out of the way and you're just going to run the brush along the coronary band now boxy's got a lot of hair down here so it's a little bit more difficult with her so i got to kind of get away from all that fringe and it should be as easy as that you shouldn't have to put a lot on there um and uh if you put it on the coronet it'll soak it all up and it'll actually do what its purpose is so i hope that helped guys and we're gonna end it there
