about finding a happy medium between dressing up and dressing down dress shoes and jeans okay guys so first of all it seems like more and more you guys are investing in a higher quality shoe and don't want to just wear it with suits okay because that doesn't limit you greatly I mean sometimes when you're hanging out in the weekends or when you're going on a date or when you're just hanging out with the guys you want to kind of dress up but you don't want to be overly dressed okay so now dress shirts and jeans is gonna be the way to go all right guys so now let's just get down to it number one the style of shoe you wear okay so if you're new to these guys and it's your first time wearing dresses with jeans I would highly highly suggest starting with a good year well you know if you're unfamiliar what a good year well shoe is it's basically the shoe that has exposed stitching okay it's usually a more expensive shoe so a higher grade type shoe typically they're gonna run you around 300 dollars guys upwards to about 800 so 300 to 800 but this seems like a lot at the moment it seems like an awful lot but it's truly an investment reason being is that this stitching right here can be resold so basically you can take off the sole and put a new one if it's a high quality shoe and you're taking care of the leather you're making sure that it's uh it's it's well groomed the shoe it's gonna last you a lifetime okay guys now the reason being why you would actually want to use a good ero shoe because it's a little bulkier it's more of like a it has a sneaker feel it's not quite sleek so you'll never see a good ear well this pointy or it looks like a monk strap or it looks really dressy it's like the least dressy of the dress shoes if that makes sense okay so you have to consider the style of shoe you wear start with Goodyear well now guys the style of good ear welding you choose also is going to determine if it flows nicely not okay so typically I'd like to stick with a bludger or blue tree I don't know I can't say it properly order me reason being is that they are the most least rest of the dress shoes okay you don't want to wear like a wingtip you don't want to wear like a double monk strap or single monk strap you want to keep it kind of like casual so now if they're brogues or suede you're gonna be super easy to match okay guys they're gonna go with any type of denim you use next you must consider the color you choose okay guys so with denim typically denim is blue black dark blue you wouldn't want to stick with brown reason being is that brown and blue go extremely well together okay now a lot of guys say black and brown will go together I disagree black and brown especially with denim goes extremely well together it looks very nice especially if you're pairing it with a cardigan if you're pairing it with a blazer tie a dress shirt I think you could even wear a t-shirt with a blazer a pair of dark brown robes or dark brown suede shoes and black pants and you're set that looks very very nice guys now to the actual denim okay guys you're gonna want to stick with dark blue that's dark denim that's like that salvaged denim or black reason being is that they're the most dressy of the jeans okay now if you're used to wearing dress shoes with suits you're gonna feel it's kind of funny or you're gonna feel like you're not dressed right if you weren't with light colored denim okay now the reason being why you would actually want to wear dark denim or black denim is that they're the most dressy of the denim okay they're like the nicest pair of pants you can pair them with a blazer and they're gonna go perfectly sometimes you won't even be able to tell that you're wearing denim versus rousers trust me I've been to a lot of galas to a lot events where I actually wear black denim with like with like a dinner jacket no one could ever tell it just looks like fitted fitted trousers okay so that's like a little bonus so now that you have the style shoe you wear at the colored shoe the fabric of the shoe the color of denim dark or black you have to make sure your denim is fit okay now it can be too too skinny reason mean is that your dress shoes are typically a little bit more bulkier than your regular sneakers so your legs are gonna look kind of funny it's gonna look like yeah really skinny legs and in big shoes okay so you want to make sure that they're a proportion of right now the next thing is you don't want your denim to be too too big reason being is that you have some killer dress shoes and your Dana's gonna be covering them all it's not gonna look good against not gonna look at at all typically I like to have a little bit of break in my denim only because I do one or two cups now I feel like if I want to have that expose ankle then I'm gonna cuff it twice if I want to have a breaking my denim and I'm maybe for the evening then I would just cuff it once and they'll sit dry on the bottom of the shoe perfect now it's also important to know when you should be wearing denim with jeans and when you shouldn't okay so if it's a gala or a super fancy event or a wedding don't do it but if you're going out with the guys if you if you have a date if you if you're just hanging out with some family and you know it's not like too dressy and do it you know I feel like it looks really really good it's gonna give you a more elevated approach to dressing down now there are those cases where you can wear black denim and black shoes but it's very rare you have to be like a certain type of guy okay or you have to wear like a loafer but that's different okay so today we're just talking about starting to wear dress shoes with jeans it's like for the beginners okay guys now if you like this video I'm
